My Story

This whole journey started back when I was growing up.  I've always loved art, and one of the skills and desires I've always had is drawing.  At some point, I was introduced to graphic design.  I first started out using a free software called Inkscape, as that's all I really had access to.  However, Inkscape was all it took for me to be entranced by graphic design.

At some point, I expanded to Affinity Designer, which gave me the tools I needed to upgrade my game and become a better designer, along with learn new design techniques and tips to become a more efficient yet quality designer.

Along the way, I started to pick up Blender.  While I never went deep into it, something about it caught my attention.  I loved the idea that in 3D design, you could essentially create your own world, allowing you to tell stories to an even greater extent.  This captivated me, and prompted me to attend school to study this.

During my time in school, I garnered knowledge and expertice in so many tools like Maya, Photoshop, Substance Painter, Z-Brush, and After Effects, allowing me get real experience that would both broaden my skillset and hone my craft deeper.

Once I graduated from there, I then got a job at Simpson Shirt Company, which is where I currently work.  During my time at Simpson Shirt Company, I have learned a multitude of job-related skills, such as having strict and limited deadlines, working and communicating with clients to agree on a final product, and utilizing the knowledge of how the practical stipulations of printing shirts affects the way I design.

From the very start of this journey, my goal has been to use digital design as a means to tell stories, not just create designs.  Each day that I learn more and gain more skill is one step closer to becoming a better and more effective storyteller, so I'm here for the ride.
